long line at Precinct 135 this morning (no surprise)

I strolled down to Precinct 135 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 1st & Rhode Island Avenue NW.  No surprise to see a very long line, leading from the church entrance along Rhode Island Avenue NW and wrapping around 1st Street NW allll the way up to U Street NW.

Hopefully, the turnout in the two voting precincts that cover Bloomingdale -- Precinct 135 at 1st & Rhode Island Avenue NW and Precinct 19 at Dunbar Senior Hight School will be robust -- and improve Bloomingdale's relative rankng among Ward 5's 18 voting precincts.

Wow what a nightmare. How do we work on improving the voting system in Bloomingdale? I can't believe their is only 1 electronic voting terminal in the building and that voting electronically actually takes longer than getting a paper ballot and filling it out. How is that possible? Why isn't anyone communicating that to people when they arrive to vote? Why do we have people checking in voters that can't read or see well?
