using a package dropoff location to avoid getting delivered packages stolen

See this message from a Bloomingdale neighbor:

Have been reading your information re: packages stolen in our neighborhood.

A few times I have had someone else's packages left at my door.  Not sure if UPS man pays attention to address???? So I take packages back to UPS for proper delivery.  I do not want to be responsible.

Now, I have my packages delivered to:

(My name)
Attn: Genius Ndukuba
GLOBAL PRINT MASTER
2004  Rhode Island Avenue, NE
Washington, DC  20018

Tel:  202 529-5905
Fax: 202 529-5905

FED EX, UPS, USPS or any other delivery service.
The person has to notify him that a package is coming.
His fee is $10 per package

A neighbor passes along this comment:

I'd like to point out that the FREE option of using Capitol Food Mart also supports a neighborhood business (should you choose to buy a bottle of water or piece of fruit, etc.).  If we want this neighborhood business (easily the size of Windows) to stock the items we find convenient, we need to patronize it.

There's also the option with UPS of having them deliver to Capitol Food Mart, which has the advantage of being actually in Bloomingdale and also free.

Agree with Dave, above. Capitol Food Mart accepts them for free. Plus, if you stop in and see something useful, you're supporting a local business. Ask for something you want and maybe they'll stock it - it's easily the size of Windows, we could used another good market option.
