Scott -
I live on Seaton Pl NW and my tabby cat Fritz got out of the
house today Jan. 7 around 3pm. I'm hoping you might be able to add something to
your listserv. He is a house cat and is not used to being outside.
And here is an update from the cat owner:
We found Fritz tonight in our garage - fortunately he
must have stayed close to home while we scoured Bloomingdale. He seems to be in one piece and happy to be
back home. Quite a cold day to pick an
escape! Thanks for posting so quickly and thanks for providing our community
with all the information you provide.

The Fight to Save McMillan Park Isn’t Over
01/06/2017 01:13 pm ET | Updated 2 hours ago
It looked like the
David-versus-Goliath fight to save a historic park in the nation’s capital had,
after nearly three decades, finally run its course.
On December 7th, D.C. Mayor Muriel
Bowser and city officials broke ground on a $720 million
development on the 25-acre McMillan Park and Sand Filtration Plant site.
Developers and city officials were
eager to take advantage of the green expanse, which filtered the city’s water
beneath its surface for 80 years, and turn it into two million square feet of
mostly office space and high-end housing, with a six-acre park.
At the groundbreaking Bowser said the
pressing question was: “When are they going to do something about that place?”
“Now,” she told the assembled crowd before she and other officials grabbed
shovels.
But the very next day the project was
halted.
