Subject: First corn, peaches, field tomatoes att BFM Sunday

Hi BFM fans,

Ok, now we know it is summer because Garner has the first corn and field tomatoes and Reid has the first peaches -- Rich May yellow peaches.  But if you want a bowl of cherries, Reid has 4 choices: white sweet cherries, Royal Anne bicolor sweet cherries, Bing sweet cherries

It is going to hot this week, so we should all make ice cream sandwiches with Whisked cookies and our favorite ice creams..  have you seen this little video of what to do with their new creamsicle cookie and ice cream?

Damien has Blackberry tart, Multi fruit tart and apple tart at Panorama.

Here is a sample of what we will have at market:

REID'S:Peaches! Blueberries! Strawberries! Cherries!  Hinnonmaki Red Gooseberries. Snow peas, yellow squash, cucumbers, suar snap peas, English Hull peas, zucchini, Kiki Fuji Apples.

Kathy says: "Yellow lugs as they come in from the fields..Hand sorted in our Food Safety Modernizaction Act approved packing boxes by folks wearing gloves..Then they get boxed up in quarts or pints to travel to market..We work hard to bring the best to you."

Next week: Apricots, rasperries, Lodi June apples, currants.

GARNERS PRODUCE: Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, various green peppers. and some hot ones too.All the different eggplant and the summer squash are begging to be sliced thin and quickly grilled, bunches of basil for the field grown tomatoes, and new potatoes, English peas, sugar snaps,. Spring onions go very well with those shelled peas.  Scallions, garlic, carrots, kales, arugula, lettuces, beets, radishes, bok choi, chard, spinach, collards, their own grits, cornmeal, potted herbs and annuals and perennials. Let those juices mingle with the bread, with basil leaves, sliced cukes and radishes.  And yes, you can add some feta.

Holy Communion

Under Special Circumstances

We’ll follow the form found on page 396 of the Book of Common Prayer (“Communion under Special Circumstances”), which also includes Confession and a Post-Communion Prayer.

If you did not have an opportunity to pick up consecrated bread and wine, you may wish to pray the prayer below while others are receiving. It’s a prayer for Spiritual Communion that originated in Apartheid South Africa, in another time when the sacraments of the Church were not always readily available.

Jesus, may all that is you flow into me.

May your body and blood be my food and drink. May your passion and death be my strength and life. Jesus, with you by my side enough has been given. May the shelter I seek be the shadow of your cross. Let me not run from the love which you offer But hold me safe from the forces of evil. On each of my dyings shed your light and your love. Keep calling to me until that day comes. When, with your saints, I may praise you for ever.

Amen. (1989 Anglican Church of South Africa)

Prayer: The beauty of our Episcopal tradition and the Book of Common Pray is that even if we cannot gather with our church community, we can pray with our church. We can pray together online. We can pray at the same time. We can pray knowing that somewhere in the world, others are saying the same prayers we are. We can pray knowing that we are always joined in prayer with the company of heaven. When we pray, we are never alone.

Please find the Book of Common Prayer online here if you do not have one at home.

Prayers of the People: Please keep me informed of anyone from the parish that we should add to the parish prayer list. Also, please help me with upcoming birthdays and anniversaries as we update our records so that we as a community hold each other in prayer.

Together: Let us ask God to guide us, Jesus to abide in us, and the Holy Spirit to strengthen us. "God of Grace and God of Glory...grant us wisdom, grant us courage for the facing of this hour." (Hymn 594 - The Hymnal 1982)
