Neighbors,

We are now 3 DAYS AWAY from the last opportunity to cast you ballot in the 2020 general election.  This week commenced the beginning of in person early voting in the District and more than 20,000 residents voted on the first day.  The early voting center at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center here in Ward 5 had more than 1350 voters on the first day of early voting, the 2nd highest in the city behind the super vote center at Nationals Park.  Ward 5 has always been a strong electorate and I know we will continue to show up to the polls in large numbers and have our voices heard.

If you are still finalizing your plans to safely cast your ballot, The DC Board of Elections has opened 34 early in person voting centers across the District that will be available to all residents until November 2nd.  On election day there will be 93 vote centers open.  All registered voters were mailed a ballot and those ballots can dropped off at any of the 55 drop box locations across the city.  To find your nearest drop box or vote center visit DC BOE's website here.

The Board of Elections is encouraging all residents to utilize drop boxes oppose to mailing in ballots.  If you would like to track your ballot, follow the link here.  Same day voter registration is available during in person early voting and on election day. Residents who have questions or concerns can reach out to the Board of Elections by emailing Director@dcboe.org
