any "cord-cutters" in Bloomingdale? Any households that have replaced Comcast cable with Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, YouTube -- using AppleTV or Roku?

Has anyone in Bloomingdale replaced their Comcast cable connection with AppleTV or Roku? How has the transition worked for you?

Not a cord cutter but replaced Comcast with Directv. 100x better!

I have both the Roku and Apple TV. I prefer the Roku because it not only has Netflix, but also Amazon Instant Video and Pandora. As for watching live TV, I have a simple pair of $5 rabbit ears (i.e., an antenna) and I'm able to receive 30+ local HDTV channels plus 5 or 6 foreign channels via the MHz Network from Fairfax, VA all for free over the airwaves. This has been my set up for years. No reason to pay for cable nowadays!

But how do you access internet then? Through your phone company?

Unfortunately there aren't too many Internet service providers in our neighborhood. So I'm stuck with Comcast Internet for now.

I "cut the cord" recently. It has been amazing. Here's what I did.
- I got Comcast "Performance" Internet, which is about $50 a month
- I got Apple TV
- I got hulu, and netflix
- I got an HD Antennae
- I got Eye TV, which allows be to record in air content to my laptop
- I split an HBO account with my parents! You can use Airplay from an Apple device to the Apple TV.

This has been an amazing set up, which not only allows me to eschew cable content that I will never watch, but it saves a lot of money!
