Thank you from Crispus Attucks Park for a wonderful Community Day!

Dear Bloomingdale neighbors and friends,

Crispus Attucks Development Corporation (CADC) would like to thank the hundreds of neighborhood residents, friends, and family who attended our 10th Annual Community Day and Yard Sale this past Saturday.  A little rain notwithstanding, the event was a huge success, and a tremendous amount of fun. Kids socialized with a Kiddie Mingle, neighbors swapped and sold at the Yard Sale, community organizations shared information about their good work, and everyone enjoyed all of Bloomingdale's restaurants in one place at the Taste of Bloomingdale!

The Bloomingdale Community Day is a fundraiser for Crispus Attucks Park, and our preliminary accounting is that this year's event was one of our best yet: we raised over $5500 for the park, covering over half of our normal yearly expenses.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

For all who would like more information about Crispus Attucks Park, please visit us at http://crispusattuckspark.org/ or attend our next Board meeting on June 12 at 7:30pm.  We will announce the location on this listserv in advance.

I would like to give a special mention the neighborhood businesses who so generously sponsored the Community Day and the restaurants who donated food to the Taste of Bloomingdale.  Restaurants who participated in the Taste of Bloomingdale donated ALL the food for the event, so that every dollar raised from ticket sales could go straight to the park.
