Neighbors,

Below please find below a flyer that is being circulated around the community in connection with the Fun Day that has been planned to take place in the pocket park on First and Florida Avenue, N.W. on this Saturday. This is the second in a series of events that Mayor Fenty's Office of Constituent Services has taken primary responsibility for organizing as a reflection of the Mayor's commitment to help us to address our public safety concerns about the park as well as the larger community. In addition, Ward Five Council Member Thomas and others, including the Fifth District Police, are supporting this project. As a community, we have been asked to (1) attend this function and (2) to donate some hamburgers, rolls, condiments and, possibly, soft drinks for it. If anyone is in a position to make a donation of any kind for this event, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can coordinate the contribution with the resources that are being gathered by our neighbor and Mayor Fenty's Ward Five Constituent Services and Relations Representative, Alice Thompson. As always, if we are going to transform this park into a socially productive place for the enjoyment of residents of all ages, then we need to make frequent and productive use of it. Saturday is an opportunity to do so. Hope to see you there!

Best,

Jim Berry
