neighbor: Robbery near 1st St NW north of U Street NW

See this 03-04-2017 8:32 pm message from a Randolph Place NW resident:

About 20+ police cruisers and motorcycle cops out in force scanning the area, one helicopter.  No additional details, but they said it was an on-street robbery.
                                                                                              
This has got to stop. We all need to request MPD and McDuffie to provide undercover officers to patrol unseen, and effectively to pose as easy targets, so that the criminals can be taken out for good.  Driving around in your cruiser, with red and blue lights flashing and sirens blaring , isn't the most effective method to catch a perp, and it clearly hasn't worked out in the past. Chief Newsham --: we need NEW methods of policing in Bloomingdale. Thanks.
