Last July, 27-year old DNC staffer Seth Rich was murdered near his Bloomingdale home. At first, it looked like a familiar tragedy. The police speculated that it was a robbery gone wrong and say the investigation is ongoing. Rich’s watch wasn’t stolen, but the watch band was damaged and there had been a series of armed robberies in the area. That story didn’t check out with Jack Burkman. The lobbyist, a Republican, started working with Rich’s family and offered a $105,000 reward to help solve the murder. His involvement is one of many surreal turns in a case that has ignited the conspiratorial imaginations of alt-right Reddit users, Newt Gingrich, and Julian Assange. The latest twist comes from Burkman. This spring, he plans to hire actors to stage a reenactment of the killing. Burkman says Rich’s family is supportive. ...
Agree with this 100%. Burkman has never explained satisfactorily why HE of all people (with zero connection to Seth Rich, who was not a lobbyist and decidedly not a Republican, unlike Burkman himself) is running this decadent "murder mystery" circus. Moreover, setting aside the ill-chosen messenger/organizer himself, HOW is he proposing to "re-enact" a murder of which NOBODY except for the perpetrator(s) knows how exactly it happened? It will all be guesswork and hypothesis, and if done wrong (which is likely to happen), it will only do a disservice to finding out who committed it and how this tragedy actually happened...
Oh, it doesn't seem like any harm in a reenactment. There's reenactments of all kinds of real crimes on various TV dramas and this might reveal something new OR put to rest some doubts.
Seth's death was already hijacked for an incredibly disgusting conspiracy theory at huge harm to his family and friends. The lobbyist has already seized on another insane conspiracy theory (the russians did it!) which seems likely he'll be using it as a vehicle to score political points.

Absolutely disgusting to see people turning his death into a circus for political points.
