Hi Everyone,

Join Common Good City Farm for a Home Brewing Course with Fishbowl Brewery!

Register: https://homebrewingclass.eventbrite.com
Learn to brew beer at home!

Throughout these two fast-paced sessions, the class attendees will acquire the necessary knowledge for successfully brewing beer at home while gaining hands on experience in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

Class 1, Thursday, October 25th, 6:30 pm - 8:30pm

We will provide a quick overview on the basic process of homebrewing. This will include basic equipment, sanitation, ingredients, temperature control, and the fermentation process. During this discussion, we will simultaneously brew up a batch of wort (unfermented beer) and prepare it for fermentation.

Class 2: Thursday, November 8th, 6:30 pm - 8:30pm

We will continue the homebrewing conversation with a discussion on fermentation, bottling, and carbonation. We will also be transferring our newly fermented beer to bottles and labeling our new beers.

At the end of the course, each student will receive several homemade beers, an official homebrewing certificate, and a Fishbowl brewing bottle opener!

Attendees must be over 21 to participate.

About the Instructor:

The class is taught by Andy Oetman, a competition-winning homebrewer with over 12 years of brewing experience. In addition to his full time job protecting DC’s streams and rivers, Andy has started two beer-related side projects. In 2014, he began installing hop plants for a few of his neighbors and slowly began a local hop growing movement aka a “co-hoperative”.

In 2016, he founded Fishbowl Brewing Co. Fishbowl Brewing currently operates as a brewing collective with about 15 dedicated homebrewers from the DC area. Members of the collective combine their forces to produce several batches of homemade beer per year.

If you would like to inquire about a private group class, Fishbowl Brewery tours, joining the brewing collective or anything else please contact Andy at Fishbowlbrewing@gmail.com
