reminder of the types of work subject to historic preservation review that require permits in DC historic districts

Did you receive in the mail this week “Notice of Proposed Real Property Assessment for Tax Year 2022” – from the DC Office of Tax and Revenue? 

Included in the envelope is a flyer titled “Important Information about Property Improvements: A Reminder from the DC Historic Preservation Office.” 

This HPO notice is on the opposite side of the “How to Appeal This Notice” piece of paper in the envelope.

Replacement of roofing & siding material

Brick repointing & repair

Installation of fences & decks

Construction of additions

Alteration of porches & entry steps

Replacement and alteration of exterior features

New garages and paved parking areas
