Yippee!  See this 01/09/2013 message about Bloomingdale's Red Hen:

Game Hen, Saurkraut Ravioli on The Red Hen's Menu

This spring is when The Red HentheBloomingdale restaurant from Mike O'Malley and Proof alumni Michael Friedman and Sebastian Zutant, will open at 1822 1st St. NW, offeringItalian-influenced American foodwith a local bent. A press release from the team gives more of an idea of what to expect from the place, including.
· The Red Hen will be closed Mondays and open with dinner service; brunch will follow shortly after opening.
· Some of the items on the menu include Virginia clams casino, potato and sauerkraut ravioli and local oysters. Friedman is predicting that a wood grilled hen dish with celery root , Za'atar butter and toasted barley will be a signature dish.

· Cocktails from Zutant will be priced $10 and under. Most of the wines on the list will be from Italy, with about 10 offered by the glass each night.
· Architecture firm Edit is designing the 2,400 square foot restaurant. The place has 13 foot ceilings and lots of natural light. Expect an open kitchen, exposed shelves that will hold firewood for the grill and rustic tables and bar stools.
