Ecumenical Council's Family Health & Safety Fun Day event scheduled for tomorrow, Sat, 7-21-2012, has been postoned

Hello 2012 Family Health & Safety Fun Day participants!

The current weather forecast calls for flash flooding in many parts of the city, continuing throughout most of the evening with a better than 50% chance of rain Saturday, July 21st.

In lieu of the inclement weather conditions looming over this area for the next two days, The North Capitol Street & Rhode Island Avenue Ecumenical Council Board, in agreement with our co-host DC Metropolitan Police Department (5D), has decided to cancel all activities associated with The Family Health & Safety Fun Day event for this Saturday, July 21, 2012.

It is with much regret that we need to cancel this event for tomorrow; but, in the spirit of safety, we would not want to subject anyone to hazardous conditions. The NC/RI Ecumenical Board Council Members and the DC Metropolitan Police Department will decide on an alternate date in September (either September 8, 2012 or September 29, 2012). We are firmly committed to giving back to the community, showing how much our residents mean to us and expect to choose either September 8th or September 29th within the next couple of days.

Again, we can’t thank you enough for your support and commitment to good community relations.

Look forward to working with you on a new date in the days to follow!!!!

Sincerely,

Angele White
