WASHINGTON, DC -- The D.C. Court of Appeals will hear oral
arguments in a case brought by the Friends of McMillan Park against decisions
made by the D.C. Zoning Commission and the Mayor’s Agent for Historic
Preservation that would allow demolition and subdivision of McMillan Park by
constructing high-rise buildings.
Oral arguments
will be heard by the Court at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, in a yet
unspecified courtroom in the D.C. Court of Appeals, located at 430 E Street, NW, Washington, D.C. The public is encouraged to attend.
The Friends of
McMillan Park has provided a plain-language summary of the main arguments the
Court will hear in the lead article on the Friends of McMillan Park web page. The Court’s decision is not expected
before January 2017.
The 25-acre park,
located at the corner of Michigan Avenue and North Capitol Street in Northwest
Washington, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well as
the District’s Inventory of Historic Sites. The City acquired the park from the
Army Corps of Engineers in 1986 after the water purification facility, hidden
beneath the park, was decommissioned.
The District of
Columbia’s City Auditor, in a scathing letter to the District of
Columbia’s Council Chairman, strongly recommended that a new
competitive bidding process should be undertaken before any commercial
development work is started at the park.

I hope more than a few people make it to this.
The biggest land swindle since The Dutch stole Manhattan from The Lenappe in 1624, for a bag of trinkets and beads.
Go to Youtube and check the Corrs Instrumental at Hyde Park, and Lansdowne outdoor concerts like we should enjoy on our public outdoor green. Let's have music at McMillan not 31,000 cars clogging the streets a day. Stop Bowser, McDuffie corruption and collusion to stealour property with Jair Lynch, Trammel Crow and EYA(Walkable Neighborhoods with massive congestion, asthma, noise and pollution)
