The Bard Comes To Bloomingdale (or Something Like
That...)
Saturday night at The Unified Scene Theater (80 T Street
NW, Bloomingdale, DC) we’re combining high culture and (very) low culture,
mashing up improvisational comedy with The Bard, William Shakespeare — except
we’re throwing the Shakespearean texts out the window and just makin’ it up. Our
feature troupe, Crude Mechanicals, will make up entire Shakespearean play,
playing multiple characters and making use of Shakespearean tropes and language
while attempting to improvise in blank verse (wait, what?). After that,
independent improv-scene stalwarts Sistine Robot will mop up that crudity with
their inimitable long-form awesomeness.
And, what's more, we're offering our a discount to our
friends in the neighborhood. If you plan to go and are ready to buy tickets,
once you go to check out at the link below, you’ll be invited to input a code.
Simply type the word BDALE and you’ll receive $5 off the $15 ticket price.
Cool, huh?

The Bard! Robots! It's like someone combined a
Merchant-Ivory film with a Michael Bay blockbuster. Or something like that. In
any case, show up. Hilarity guaranteed!
See You On The Scene
