ANC 5E08 Commissioner Austin Pearl comments on the recent package thefts

All,

                                            

There have been three package thefts along the unit block of V Street NW over the past week.  Please be cognizant of individuals who appear to be casing porches/under porches or walking down the street with mail packages.  If you see something suspicious, call the police.  Likewise, if expecting a package and you cannot be home, I recommend you leave a note out asking your mail carrier to place it under your porch if possible or conceal it somewhere specific.

Package Thefts from Front Porches
 Keep watch for someone stealing packages from front door steps.  
Call 911 if you see anyone looking suspicious.  
There is an up-tick in thefts in Bloomingdale with 3 thefts on unit block of V St NW over the past week.  
We have caught people in past years--let's continue to catch them.
