Yes. I used Roku, but recently purchased a Blu Ray player that offers similar functionality, and have been using that - also have subscriptions to Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus.
so you still need an internet connection. Does that come from comcast or from another service provider?
Comcast right now, but would prefer a different provider, if anyone has suggestions.
