the changing demographics Ward 5 Precincts 135, 19 (and 73)

See this 04-02-2014 Washington Post post-primary election article titled "Bowser wins primary in still-divided city."  It includes a cool map graphic of the District.  The map shows the results of the DC primary election by precinct.

The precincts where Vincent Gray was victorious are colored in blue; the precincts were Muriel Bowser was victorious are colored in green.

Most of the eighteen precincts in Ward 5 are blue.

There are three Ward 5 precincts that are colored in green.

The three Ward 5 precincts that voted more for Muriel Bowser than Vincent Gray are:
  • Precinct 19
  • Precinct 135
  • Precinct 73
Precincts 19 and 135 include Bloomingdale.

Note on the Washington Post map that Precincts 135 and 19 were considered "swing precincts" where Vincent Gray won in 2010.

The primary election results reinforce that the demographics of the western side of Ward 5 continue to change -- away from the majority of the ward.

How will these three precincts vote in the November DC general election?

Probably not along with the rest of the other 15 precincts in Ward 5.

Blue precincts don't call green precincts to say congratulations
