Evening,
On 9/12/2018, at approximately
9:40 PM, Fifth District officers responded to a call for a traffic accident at
the corner of North Capitol and Channing Streets, NW, involving a
pedestrian. When the officers arrived, they found that an elderly adult
male had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. The citizen
sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision, and was transported to
an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The driver of
the striking vehicle remained on the scene, and is cooperating with the
investigation.
This case is being
investigated by members of the Major Crash Investigations Unit.
