St. George's Episcopal Church

Second Sunday after Pentecost ~ June 14, 2020

160 U Street Washington DC 20001

This Parish of the Episcopal / Anglican Church was founded in 1930 as an Episcopal Church for African Americans. St. George's witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as expressed through the Anglican Tradition. We serve as a guiding light for our parishioners as well as the larger community.  We bid you welcome in the name of the Lord!

Priest-in-Charge: The Rev Marilyn Jenkins

Thank You
St. George's

Greetings from Cleveland, Ohio! St. George’s Family, I hope this message finds you all traveling gently through these days that we are finding ourselves in our nation and world. But, as you walk through these days, I pray that this message also finds you walking faithfully through these days. I truly believe that being a disciple, a follower of Christ today, is even more so important. What this world needs is love! What this world needs is justice! What this world needs is healing! What this world needs is peace! What this world needs is Jesus! What this world needs is YOU! I write to you to thank you, not only for your graduation and ordination present of a very warm note and financial contribution, but, also to thank you for showing me what it looks like to walk in that Way of Love. Your role in my formation over the years has been crucial and has helped lead me to where I am as the new Pastor at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland. I look forward to seeing you all in the near future. Keep in touch, and know that you remain close on my heart and deep within my prayers.

Be well. Be Safe. Keep the Faith.
Much Love,

The Rev. Christopher M. Decatur

Outreach: Serving the Community

Kwanzaa Kitchen: Janis has been able to come up with a unique way in which we will continue to feed the hungry in this important ministry. It involves fewer than 6 people and we will pack the food to go and place it outside on tables for people to take their breakfast with them. We will continue this way until we are able to gather groups together again.

New Website

We have our new website up and running. It is a work in progress so it will continue to evolve over time.
