Join your Transition Team for a look at St. George's Heritage. The Transition Team promises a short afternoon of great fun as the parish gathers together to discover our heritage through several team exercises.

Our clergy transition period is the Parish's time to discern who we are and who God is calling us to be while rekindling old connections and making new ones.

Join the Transition Team each month as we discover our heritage, values, mission, leadership, connections, and our future.

This month we explore our heritage and what St. George's means to us. Please join us as this ongoing conversation needs all of you.

Grace Giving

Journals

An act of recognizing our blessings. Journal at the end of each day as you recount your day and write down all of the blessing you have received. Take note of how God is in our lives even in the midst of all we are experiencing at this time.

Kindred Coaches

2020 is a year that will never be forgotten. Our community is suffering from two pandemics: COVID-19 and a nationwide awareness of racial injustice. These crises are taking a significant toll on our community physically, mentally, and spiritually. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of the Diocese of Maryland in collaboration with the Union of Black Episcopalians and Memorial Episcopal Church are launching a new ministry called Kindred Coaches. Kindred Coaches™ will encourage Courageous Conversations on an individual level and in group activities.

The goals of this Health Equity ministry are to address healthcare disparities within communities of color. The program will offer training to individuals so that they may provide peer coaching to community members on the issues of health disparities in communities of color to include the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health, obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes.

In conjunction with Wellcoaches®, Inc., we are offering a 12-session training to become a Kindred Coach. This training will be provided over a six-week period (two 90-minute sessions per week) at no cost. After completion of the training, you will be registered with Kindred Coaches™ to actively work (voluntarily) with communities within the diocese.

Contact us through our website at www.kindredcoaches.com or at info@kindredcoaches.com. You can also reach out Carol Scott, M.D., Ms. Shannon McCullough, Karen Mercer, or Fr. Grey Maggiano.

Outreach: Serving the Community

Kwanzaa Kitchen: Janis has been able to come up with a unique way in which we will continue to feed the hungry in this important ministry. It involves fewer than 6 people and we will pack the food to go and place it outside on tables for people to take their breakfast with them. We will continue this way until we are able to gather groups together again.
