Cultivating Creative
Communities through Real Estate and the Arts
SKY Real Estate opens new office in Eckington/Bloomingdale with ART BUZZ Showcase
(Washington, D.C.) SKY Real Estate (www.skyrealestatedc.com) opens
its new office in the District with a showcase of work by local community
artists at ART BUZZ. Artists Darel Dawson (www.grindstonegalleries.com),
Charles Jean Pierre (www.charlesjeanpierre.com),
Chris Bishop (www.chrisbishop.com),
and Joan Belmar (http://www.joanbelmar.com) will
display their works at SKY’s new 1703 North Capitol Street, NE location on Thursday,
May 17, 2012 from 6:00-9:00pm.
SKY uniquely combines Real
Estate and the Arts through its recurring signature ART BUZZ events; bringing
local community artists together with home buyers and sellers. “We are excited to open
our offices in a neighborhood that has been reinvigorated by the surge in the
city’s real estate market,” said Cher Castillo Freeman, Principal Broker at SKY
Real Estate. “Part of SKY’s mission is to support local artists and local
non-profits in the community and we are thrilled this opening will benefit the
DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative,” Castillo Freeman also stated.
“I am thankful that SKY has
chosen me to participate in this unique exhibition opportunity and appreciate
its efforts to support the Arts community in D.C.” says Darel Dawson,
Grindstone Universal artist. SKY Real Estate
will provide artists a venue to sell their pieces as well as cultivate relationships that
could lead to sales and leasing opportunities of an artists’ creations. Attendees of the events have the option of
leasing and/or purchasing artwork to display in homes that are for sale, which
enhances the appeal of the property and provides further exposure for the
artist.
All ART BUZZ event proceeds
are donated to the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative. SKY extends its commitment to the arts to all
of its customers by giving them an art gift purchased from a local artist at
settlement.
More than 60 members strong,
the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative provides equitable access to
quality arts and humanities education for all D.C. public and chartered public
schools for the growth of the whole child. Working with its partners, since its
founding in 1998, the DC Collaborative produces such exemplary programs as Arts
for Every Student and the Arts Education Initiative.
