Walk to Save McMillan Park

Friends of McMillan Park (FOM) announce a Walk to Save McMillan Park for this Saturday morning, for walkers of all shapes and sizes to join FOM for a walk around the historic McMillan site and see first-hand its potential as park.  Power-walkers, amblers, ramblers and strollers, with and without babies, are all invited.

What: Walk to Save McMillan Park
Who: All who want to save McMillan Park
When: 9 am, Saturday, November 16, 2013
Where: Start at popular Big Bear Café located at 1st & R Streets NW, walk north on 1st Street, right on Channing, continuing around McMillan and back down on 1st.

The Walk will end at St George’s Episcopal Church, 2nd & U Streets, NW, where the Gray Administration’s development consultants, Vision McMillan Partners (VMP) are holding one of their bogus architectural open houses that pretend to seek community input. There, FOM will display photos of McMillan as it is now, including the magnificent underground caverns that the VMP consultants want to destroy, and of alternative development designs and ideas from around the world.

As established by over 5,000 petition signatures, the community wants to Save McMillan Park.
