a good review for Beau Thai at New Jersey & R Street NW

From a Providence Condominium resident:

I went to Beau Thai last night for carry out..very good food and pretty inexpensive for what you get!

My wife and I went to Beau Thai on Monday night for carry-out and the food was great. I can recommend the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai and Chicken Satay....delicious.

The owners are very friendly and although they didn't have the place furnished yet (something about permits being delayed) you can tell that this place will have a bright future. Maybe they will get outdoor seating and a liquor license too, which would be great.

I'll be going back....frequently.

I got takeout tonight, the second night they were open, and it was wonderful. We had pad thai, red curry duck, and green papaya salad, and they were all very tasty, and totaled just under $30. Better than other Thai restaurants that I've tried in DC, cheaper, and so close to home.

is it just carryout for now?

It is just carryout for now. they plan to have a dine-in option once permits clear, and long-term aspirations for outdoor seating. The panang curry, tom yum soup, and tom kha soup were all fantastic.

We did carryout last night. The green papaya salad was wonderful and the drunken noodles were equally as good...nice and spicy. Food didn't seem Americanized. Massaman curry rocked! So nice to now have a place I can walk to on my way home to pick up dinner.

do they take credit cards yet?

They do not take credit cards yet. I tried their pad thai chicken, tom yum soup, steamed dumplings and chicken cashew last night. It was all excellent and priced right. They owner informed me that they will be doing delivery in the coming month as well.
