Subject: Notification of Deployment of CCTV Cameras

Good afternoon Councilmembers and ANC Commissioners, 

Please let this email serve as notification of an anticipated deployment of new mounted Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras in the Third District within the boundaries of your Wards and ANC SMD’s.  We are hoping to deploy these cameras soon.  The locations are listed below: 

·         200 block of V Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B01

·         200 block of W Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B11 (note that this camera will replace the current trailer camera that is deployed at that location)

·         4^th Street and V Street, NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B01

·         11^th Street and Clifton Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B06

·         14^th Street and Fairmont Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B07 and 1B08

·         Euclid Street and Sherman Avenue NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B03 and 1B11

·         Mount Pleasant Street and Irving Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1D04 and 1D05

·         Hiatt Place and Park Road NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1A05

·         11^th Street and Monroe Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1A06 and 1A07

·         16^th Street and Monroe Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1D01, 1D04 and 1A05

·         New Hampshire Avenue and W Street NW – Ward 1 – SMD 1B04 and 1B05

·         1^st Street and Q Street NW – Ward 5 – SMD 5E05 and 5E06 (note that this camera will replace the current trailer camera that is deployed at that location)

·         1^st Street and O Street NW – Ward 5 – SMD 5E05

·         Quincy Place and Florida Avenue NW – Ward 5 – SMD 5E06

·         North Capitol Street and O Street NW – Ward 5 – SMD 5E05

·         North Capitol Street and P Street NW – Ward 5 – SMD 5E05

·         8^th Street and O Street NW – Ward 6 – SMD 6E01 and 6E03

·         7^th Street and S Street NW – Wards 1 and 6 – SMD 1B01 and 6E01 (note that this camera will replace the current trailer camera that is deployed at that location) 

These locations were selected based in part on an analysis of violent crime incidents, historic crime trends, lack of other government cameras and requests from the community and Councilmembers.  In the event that additional cameras become available, we will notify the impacted Councilmembers and Commissioners of deployment locations.
