Flooding has been a longtime problem in Northwest D.C.’s Bloomingdale neighborhood.

For decades we saw roads flooded and basements filling with a nasty mixture of floodwater and sewage.

Tropical Storm Isaias ripped through the area Tuesday, water gushed down streets, through underpasses, and from retaining walls.

But in Bloomingdale, D.C. Water’s efforts at flood control seem to be working.
