Cultivate the City is partnering with Bidwell Restaurant for a unique Green Happy Hour Thursday July 30th! Come join us for drinks, food and networking from 4-7pm to help support urban agriculture and food education projects right here in the District. You can also learn about our partnership with local schools and restaurants and even taste food grown right on the roof of Union Market. (We might even be able to sneak in a couple tours of the roof garden!) Cocktails and appetizers prepared with District-grown produce from our gardens will be available for purchase and prices will be 20% off regular happy hour prices! Proceeds will go to supporting the JO Wilson Elementary School Garden and expanding Cultivate the City's programming to other local schools.

Location:
Bidwell is located in Union Market and is closest to the NoMa-Gallaudet U metro stop on the Red line. Parking is also available for free in the Union Market Parking Lot
Bidwell’s motto and mantra is “Responsibly Sourced”, acknowledging the heritage of American cuisine and the seasonal offerings of neighboring artisanal Market vendors and farmers. Much of the produce served at Bidwell comes from a crop of fruit and vegetables grown in aeroponic planters on the roof of Union Market and is supplemented with produce from other local farms and gardens; this is literally roof-to-table cuisine. Cultivate the City provides starter plants and growing assistance for Bidwell, as well as supplemental produce from their nearby gardens.
Hope to see you on Thursday!
