Upon college graduation in 1941, he joined the Army and was commissioned as an officer, eventually earning a Bronze Star. After four years (2 terms) as Massachusetts AG, in 1966 he ran for Senate and won. He was re-elected in 1972. During his time as a senator, he lived in #brookland.
