Help plan the best neighborhood fundraiser ever!

Hello Bloomingdale!

It's time to start planning for our neighborhood's BIGGEST EVENT--the Crispus Attucks Park Community Day 2020 (save the date: Saturday, May 16th)!

As you know, Crispus Attucks Park is not a DC Park and gets no funding or help from the city at all, so we rely on YOU to volunteer to keep our neighborhood gem going. We need lots of volunteer help to prep for the big day and on the day itself, so please join the CADC Board at our planning meeting to put your name down.

Where: 2015 1st Street NW
When: 7:00 pm
What: Community Day planning meeting. Below are just a few of the volunteer positions we will discuss at the meeting:

Signature Committee--> Permission from DCRA requires signatures!
Signage, Marketing, Promotions--> Any graphic designers in the neighborhood??
Taste of Bloomingdale--> Neighborhood restaurants sign up to donate food for the big event! YUM!!!
Sponsors--> Neighborhood (and greater) businesses donate funds for the Community Day event and to keep the Park running :)
CADC Table--> Don't have time to hold a yard sale? We'll do it for you! Bring us your stuff and we'll sell it for a good cause (the Park!)
Yard Sale Vendors--> Want to sell your yard sale items at the biggest event in the neighborhood? Buy a spot and sell on Community Day!
Other Activities--> Remember the Dog Show? Face painting? Kid's games? Yoga? So much fun! Put your name down to help organize!
Band--> Gotta have music :)

Dear Friends of Crispus Attucks Park,

Are you willing to be interviewed for a research study about the potential benefits of green space?  The research is in benefit of Nature Sacred, the foundation that gave CADC the grant that made it possible to build the Memory Garden and other park amenities.  They’re looking to talk to anyone in the community who uses and enjoys Crispus Attucks Park.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve only recently discovered the park.

Interviews by phone are welcome and appreciated, but they’re also hoping to do a few of them in person. Either way it shouldn’t take long, maybe 30 minutes.

If you’re interested, let me know (jacorea@gmail.comand I’ll share your email address (or phone number if you prefer) with the researcher, Francesca Richardson. This is a great way for the community to give back to an organization that has done so much for the park. Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Thank you!

John Corea
