Body Found at Scene of Fire

Tuesday, Dec 4, 2012  |  Updated 8:06 PM EST

A body was found at the scene of a fire in northwest D.C. Tuesday evening.

A search of the first floor of a home in the 1800 block of First Street NE revealed the deceased body. The gender is unknown.

The bulk of the fire was out by 8 p.m., and crews were searching the basement. The second floor was cleared.
