One man was killed and at least six other people were wounded in the District on Sunday in two separate shootings a few blocks apart, authorities said.
The fatal shooting occurred about 1:20 a.m. at North Capitol and T streets NW, said Officer Paul Metcalf, a police spokesman.
After gunfire was reported there, police arrived to find three people with gunshot wounds in a vehicle.

The second shooting occurred about 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of Lincoln Road NE. Police said one man was shot, and bullets also grazed three other people.
The first shooting occurred just south of Rhode Island Avenue. The site of the second shooting was a few blocks southeast of the first. But other than their geographical proximity, there was no immediate indication of any link between the two incidents.
