That's correct. But the additional plantings and improved maintenance of the tree boxes are theresponsibility of the homeowners. Casey Tree's has community programs and as such they are interested in helping the First Street Tree project. The city plants the larger canopy trees, which they are in the process of doing this spring.

Fairly sure the City plants street trees, not Casey Trees. In fact, they got into trouble with that a couple of years ago.
I would put in a 311 request for a tree planting. They're very receptive to those, as the city has a quota to meet for tree planting.
