Anxo: D.C. now has its very own cidery and Basque eatery in Anxo, a 3,000-square-foot restaurant in Bloomingdale from veterans of Meridian Pint, Smoke & Barrel and a handful of other area restaurants and bars. The restaurant, which opened Wednesday, features a house-made cider — it’s actually the first permitted winery in the District proper — as well as more than 20 ciders on draft and an additional 16 draft lines for beer and cocktails. The menu leans heavily on pintxos, small bites commonly eaten with cider in Basque restaurants and bars.
