Legislation
clarifies currently ambiguous regulations and helps retain the
character of residential neighborhoods
Washington,
D.C. – - Tomorrow, Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie
(D-Ward 5), joined by the Working Families Party, DC Jobs With
Justice, and other tenant groups and advocacy organizations will
announce the introduction of new legislation to establish a
regulatory framework and enforcement procedures to prevent illegal
short-term rentals on Airbnb and other online platforms. This
legislation, drawing upon successful models from across the
country, provides new penalties and increased transparency and
reporting requirements to preserve the character and integrity of
D.C. neighborhoods.
