Howard University Homecoming parade route on Saturday, 10-18-2014, will be up 4th St NW (and not 2nd St NW)

Good afternoon, Bloomingdale Officers:

Deputy Chief Michelle Milam has forwarded the Howard University Homecoming parade route below for the purpose of eliminating any confusion I may have caused in passing along information that was not the most current last evening.  She will have a representative present at the ANC 5E meeting tonight, and is hoping to have a map ready that illustrates the route more graphically at that time.

I appreciate both your advocacy for Bloomingdale neighbors and your patience with the University in addressing the impact this event will have on the community.

Best regards,

Maybelle

Subject: 2014 Homecoming Parade Route

Good Afternoon,
Thanks for bringing the confusion about the parade route to my attention during last night’s Bloomindale Civic Association meeting.  The parade route will be as follows:
Start at the Administration Building 2400 block 6th Street NW
Continue North on 6th Street NW
Make a left onto Fairmont Street NW
Make a left onto Georgia Avenue NW
Continue Southbound on Georgia Avenue NW
Make a left onto Florida Avenue NW
Continue Eastbound on Florida Avenue NW
Make a left onto 5th Street NW
Continue Northbound on 5th Street NW
Make a right onto T Street NW
Continue eastbound on T Street NW
Make a left onto 4th Street NW
Continue Northbound on 4th Street NW
Make a left on Howard Street NW (End of the parade)

A map of this route is being corrected and will be forwarded to each affected community group in a package.  The maps of homecoming events will also be posted on the Department of Public Safety’s website.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
