Tom Noll, Bloomingdale's local neighborhood landscape designer & children's book author, will make his debut with a reading, sale promo and signing of his first book "The Bicycle Fence".  This delightful first book in Tom Noll’s “Trash to Treasure” series, based on events from the author’s own childhood, will inspire young readers to reinvent, re-purpose, recreate, reuse and recycle in ways that are both practical and fun.

Don't miss this great opportunity to hear the creative recycling adventures of L.T. and read by two local teachers with an interactive Q&A for kids to partake in afterwards!

 Author Tom Noll bio:
Tom is our popular Bloomingdale neighborhood landscape artist, who a few years back refurbished and landscaped and now maintains & decorates at his own expense Our Park at The Heart of Bloomingdale. He is also known for decorating the park and the now famous bicycle fence (they have appeared in the Washington Post & other publications) in a whimsical and fun manner for major holidays to the delight of neighbors, visitors and passerby's who have appreciated this great community gift.
He has landscaped several condominiums and homes in our area. He is also a sculptor, avid nature lover, recycler and advocate for going green who is a first time children's illustrated book writer: "Trash to Treasure" Series * Recycling Creatively with L.T. - "The Bicycle Fence", published by Green Kids Press, LLC- a WDC publisher .
                                            
Tom is originally from Somerset, Ohio. For the 15 years he lived in Manassas, Virginia, he was known for his imaginative white bicycle fence at his home, where he decorated them for major holidays also. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI).

Storyline for first book:
Little Tommy is not so little any more. He has outgrown his shoes, clothes and bicycle all in one summer! L.T. (as he is now called) longs for a brand new bike, but when his father builds him one from recycled junkyard parts, L.T. is embarrassed to ride it to school. Can he come up with a creative idea that not only gives him a good-as-new bike, but also provides a new fence for his yard… and helps save the planet in the process?
This delightful first book in Tom Noll’s “Trash to Treasure” series, based on events from the author’s own childhood, will inspire young readers to reinvent, repurpose, recreate, reuse and recycle in ways that are both practical and fun.
 
Tom and illustrator Brandon Fall (from California) are already illustrating the second book in the Series "Selling Eggs" and will be followed by "The Flowerbed" All 3-books have already been translated into Spanish for future publication.
